Xeomin is a form of Botox that is used to block muscle movement in areas that contribute to wrinkles. Typically, it’s used in the forehead to soften frown lines. Unlike dermal fillers, Xeomin only impacts muscle movement, and has no effect on filling deep wrinkles that have already formed. The same ingredients in Botox are used, though Xeomin is somewhat of a purer form of the toxin. With Botox, the active part of the toxin is encapsulated in complexing and accessory proteins. Xeomin, however, undergoes an extra step of purification so that there is no complexing protein but the active portion reminds the same.
